Monthly class series led by local artist and visual arts educator Rachael Brown includes drawing, painting, printmaking and collage. Lessons are inspired by rotating works in the gallery and will introduce a variety of techniques and materials.

Make a landscape collage using your own image. Students will discuss color, shape, and texture to create our own collage interpretations. Focus is on process and creating an artistic interpretation using the materials provided. All materials are included and students will leave with a completed landscape collage

Homeschool Art Class
For homsechool students (grades 4-6) 2023-2024 school year. Tuesday sessions 10:30-11:30am or 12:00 - 1:00pm
This monthly class series is led by local artist and visual arts educator Rachael Brown and will include drawing, painting, printmaking and collage. Lessons are inspired by rotating works in the gallery and will introduce a variety of techniques and materials. A focus is on process and material exploration. All materials are included and no experience is necessary. Projects change every month and do not repeat.

Rachael received her BFA in Fine Arts & Photography from MICA and her M. Ed in Art Education from Temple University. Rachael is a PA certified K-12 art teacher who has over ten years experience teaching students of all ages from infancy through adulthood. She has worked in a wide range of educational settings from public schools, art centers, galleries and private studios to large scale art museums including the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. Currently, she is an adjunct faculty member at the James A. Michener Art Museum.
